At Elmwood Infant School all our ways of working are covered by policies which are designed to secure consistency across the school and provide relevant information to all, in particular parents and carers.

We are committed to ensuring that the very best outcomes are achieved by all pupils attending our school. We celebrate the diversity of our school community and aim to promote a positive and inspirational learning environment in which each person is valued and respected for their ethnic and linguistic background, gender, faith, class, ability, sexuality and age.

We do recognise that we have to be vigilant in countering un-fair practices and we oppose all forms of harassment, discrimination, prejudice and bullying.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect staff to share this commitment. We are committed to protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s health and development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. We recognise the pivotal role we play in this process to ensure children have the best chances of success and work with our professional partners to achieve the best outcomes for children.
