Admission for Reception Classes – School Year 2023 – 2024
(For children born between 1st September 2018 – 31st August 2019)
If you child was born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019 you can apply for a place for your child to start Elmwood Infant School’s Reception class from the school year 2023 – 2024. To apply for a place, you must complete a form. This form must be completed by the parents of the child applying for a reception place. The easiest and most efficient way to apply is to do so online at https://www.croydon.gov.uk/admissions. If you apply online, the outcome of your application can be viewed online.
Completed forms must be returned by Tuesday 15th January 2023
Admission for Nursery Classes – School Year 2023 – 2024
(For children born between 1st September 2019 – 31st August 2020)
If you child was born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020 you can register for a place at our Nursery.
Before you come to the school to apply, please make sure you bring the following: Child’s FULL birth certificate and proof of your home address (Mortgage agreement, an up-to-date council tax letter or tenancy agreement).

Year 2 (Infants) to Year 3 (Junior) Transfer
If your child is currently in Year 2, you must apply by 15th January 2023 for a junior school place.
Key points to remember:
– There is no automatic transfer from Elmwood Infant School to Elmwood Junior School (or any other Junior School)
– Carefully read the admissions criteria for the junior school(s) that you wish to apply for,
– Junior schools give priority within their admissions criteria to children who are on the roll of their linked infants school. Our linked school is Elmwood Junior School.
